Opening a Bash Terminal Command Line

Here’s how to open a Bash terminal command line. There are two ways to do this:

  1. from within VSCode,
  2. from the system itself.

All of these instructions apply to any of the main operating systems: Linux, Mac, or Windows.

But First …

From Within VSCode

Start up VSCode

Find the Terminal menu.

Notice that the short cut from the menu shows you it is ctrl + `.

Select New Terminal from the menu.

Notice the box on the bottom that opens up with a command prompt.

You are now ready to enter commands.

From the System Itself

Activate your system search.

Type in term and then enter.

You should see a system terminal pop up.
