Node Package Manager / NPM

NPM is a necessary evil. It is how most JavaScript Node.js is installed to your local workstation. These days NPM comes with Node.js. Install one and you get the other.

Checking If You Have NPM Installed

Try the following to check if you have NPM:

• [Opening a Bash Terminal Command Line]

npm -version

If you have it, you will see the version number, which should look something like this.

3.5.2

If you see something like this then you know it is not installed:

bash: npm not found

Installing NPM on Linux Mint

sudo apt install npm

Installing NPM on Mac

First get brew if you haven’t already.

Now it’s pretty.

brew install npm

Installing NPM on Windows
