Machine Code

Machine code is data containing instructions that generally only a computer can understand directly. Programs must be converted into machine code to run.

The way code that you write gets converted into machine code and when depends on the language. When you build a compiled language such as Go the resulting command that you run is machine code. When you use an interpreted language such as JavaScript or Python the interpreter compiles your code into machine code just in time to run and then runs it without you every knowing.
