Installing a Minecraft Client

Here’s how to install a Minecraft client so you can play the game locally and connect to servers remotely.

But First …

You don’t really need to have a Linux workstation for this but these instructions assume you are running the standard SkilStak Linux workstation.

Step by Step

The easiest way is to just install the minecraft-installer package.

sudo apt install minecraft-launcher

If that doesn’t work you can get the package file directly instead

curl -O
sudo apt install ./Minecraft.deb
