Dead Poet Society

Few films have affected me more than Robin Williams portrayal of Mr. Keating.

“Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life, but poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”

“…to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” (Tennyson)

“We must constantly look at things in a different way. … Just when you think you know something you have to look at it in another way even though it may seem silly or wrong. You must try. … Dare to strike out and find new ground.”

“Sucking the marrow out of life doesn’t mean choking on the bone. There’s a time for daring and there’s a time for caution and a wise man understands which is called for.”

Mr. Keating whistles V’s same 1812 overture.
