Ability

Abilities are the third category of learning. Unlike a skill an ability is more difficult to learn and assess. Leadership, empathy, mentoring, motivation, and building relationships are examples of abilities. Often abilities are a natural part of one's personality and are nearly impossible to learn. When an ability can be mastered is usually through life experience, mentoring, role play, and frequent reflection. Measuring a person's abilities requires knowing them over a long period of time.
